Thanks for all the good luck wishes, everyone! Apparently, they were effective because I ran my half marathon in 1:57:21, a full 13.26 minutes faster than my first one in September. That’s basically a minute less per mile!
It was an awesome experience running a race in my hometown (well it started in Phoenix, but ended in my hometown, Tempe). Fun fact: the P.F. Chang’s Rock ‘n’ Roll in Phoenix is the largest same day marathon/half marathon in the United States! This year, there were over 30,000 runners!

I’m really proud of my time since I was only able to train intensively for two and a half weeks. Out of the 1,144 in my division (F 18-24), I came in 154th!
I loved running the Disney one with my good friend, Chelsea, but it was also really nice having my parents there to greet me at the end (my dad took the photo).

Wonder what the perfect post-race vegan meal is?

Oats in a jar, of course! Well banana-vanilla-cinnamon-date oat bran in a PB jar to be exact. Normally, I can’t eat this much, but I was really hungry for obvious reasons. :) This baby really hit the spot.

Hot, gooey, lovely mess. Taken with my new Canon 60mm macro lens!
Is running 13.1 miles really that hard when you have this breakfast waiting for you at home?

Congrats! I've never done anything more than 5 miles, and that was almost 15 years ago now (whoa), so I applaud your 13.1!And that post-race snack looks divine!
Congratulations! I ran a 10k in November that left me breathless and stress-fractured. Ugh. Good for you for rocking that race!I don't know if you recently changed the header of your blog but I love it!
great time! congrats!! and i love your new header!!
Congrats, Nora. That's quite an improvement. When is your marathon!
Congratulations! And I must say, you look pretty amazing in your photos, especially considering you'd just finished a half-marathon.
CONGRATULATIONS! That is absolutely amazing, I'm so proud of you and happy for you! It looks like you had so much fun. And that breakfast is seriously tasty….LOVE the new header!
Yay, congrats. You're getting very fast :)
Congrats! You did a really awesome job! I am really amused at the runner in the banana suit. I think next time you run a marathon you should dress up as fruit too :)
Nora– Congrats on the big run! Your best time must have been fueled by the appropriate consumption of Tempe legumes! –GRIZ
Congrats!! yay you!!
Congrats!!! I'm just now learning to run and the most I can do it 3 minutes at a time, so this is baffling (and very, very impressive) to me. BTW, I thought you were gonna say you ate an entire jar of PB post-race! Not that I would put that past you…
Congratulations! The weather looks beautiful, and that snack sounds heavenly!
Wow, good for you! This is fantastic!I think I could do just about anything if I had that oat-PB goodness waiting for me! :)
Wow, you are amazing! Congrats on the race!! Oh wow, those oats in a jar sound amazing! Love the banana-cinnamon-vanilla-date combo (& PB!). Seriously, by explaining your oats in such a manner I think you could convert any oat-hater. Seriously, some people are so weird…they think oatmeal is gross when I say I eat it every morning…but they must be crazy and think we eat it plain or something! I have a completely empty AB jar, but I think I might plop some soynut butter in the bottom tomorrow so I can eat oats in a jar! I seriously hope I don't forget now. Thanks for the inspiration and sorry for the epically long comment. :)
wow awesome! nice job. i bet those pb & bananas were so good afterward.
